It is so tempting when your cats walks up to you and asks for a tiny little bite of your food, isn’t? So how bad could it be if you give them that piece? Well, its when you feed your cat little pieces of your meal that they put on the most weight!

Getting little pieces of our food equals to human snacking between the meals… And we all know how unhealthy eating between meals is…

The thing you have to remember is that a little piece of fish or meat we are tempted to give them, seems like nothing to us. But in fact, 500 gr overweight for a 4 kg cat equals 8 kg for a human that weighs 65kg ! So as tempting as it is, try not to feed them your food every now and then. As happy as it can make them in that moment, long term their health will pay the price.

Also, our food is often salty or sweet, with tons of seasonings that have no place in a cat’s diet!

By the way, even when giving cat snacks, it is highly recommended that you adjust their daily ration of food.
